Micks Garden Shed recently ran a permablitz fundraiser for the Mae Tao Clinic . The clinic's vision is for all people from Burma to have access to quality and affordable healthcare, education and protection in respect of all human rights. MTC is a community based organization that provides for vulnerable and displaced people living in the Thai-Burma border area and Eastern Burma.
Compassionate Aussies came from as far afield as Buladelah, Arcadia and Katoomba. Fady from Happy Farm Community in North Richmond supplied a five tonne excavator for the swale building. Aaron Brocken from Harvest Farms CSA supplied the laser level and surveying equipment .
His father Eric Brocken who is a local permaculture elder has taken over an unfinished community garden teetering on a steep slope to be found just off the Bells Line of road on the grounds of the Kurrajong Heights Bowling Club.

After two days of hard yakka , a little design theory while they waited out an unexpected downpour, some fun in the excavator cab and recycling a few tonnes of concrete waste destined for landfill, two hundred and fifty five dollars was raised for a very overworked medical team headed by Dr. Cynthia Maung.
